Hello All!!

Thank you SO much for visiting my new site and blog. I’m happy to have you! For those of you that don’t know me, I’m Destenie. I’m *almost* 28 and and married to my best friend. Josh and I have been married for 8 years and have 2 of the cutest little dudes.

Lincoln is 4. He is our sweet, cuddly red head who loves Star Wars, Legos, and MythBusters.

Wells is 1. We affectionately call him “Bulldog”. He is the rough and tumble one, who shows all emotions physically. He loves food, dogs, baths, and his brother.

Now, a little about me. I LOVE my dudes. We have a lot of fun together. They make me crazy in the best of ways. I love Jesus and try to show that in the way that I live and love. I’m the farthest from perfect and have to constantly remind myself of who I am in Him and his love for me. I love Target and TJ Maxx. Totally cliche, I know, but that is probably where you’ll find me if I ever have free, alone time or just need to de-stress. I thoroughly enjoy Earl Grey tea. I LOVE pregnant mommas, new mommas/families, and babies. In addition to being a photographer, I’m also a childbirth doula. I enjoy it so much and am looking forward to seeing these two passions of mine collide even more so in the future.

I feel that photography is a gift and talent that has been given to me. I try to use it in the best way possible, as well as continually looking to improve my skills and ability. The name Lovely Made was inspired by this verse in Philippians 4: “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”

My goal is to capture things that are lovely in a way that can be seen and thought about. I want us to see the blessings that the Lord has given us, so that we can hold on tight to them and see them over and over again. I don’t know if you’re anything like me, but I have to continually remind myself and be reminded of God’s goodness and grace. I want us to see ourselves and our families in light of that.

I love, love, love sunrise and sunset for outdoor photography. It is just THE best!! That light, nothing beats it. I also love “lifestyle”, in your home photography. You can’t get any more intimate or custom than that. I love taking pictures and creating images that last a lifetime, but my very favorite part of photography is spending time with and getting to know you all! You start the session as a client, but end it as a friend!

This past year I worked together with my best friend under the name Heart & Craft Photography. We LOVE spending time with one another and taking pictures together, but we found out that having a business with your best friend isn't always the best idea. We've decided in order to stay friends, that we'll run our own businesses this year. Although, we will still be joining forces and working together on some things. You'll see a lot of images on here that I took and edited while working under Heart & Craft.
